Comprehensive History of CWF

In this somewhat comprehensive look back on the history of CWF we will break things down in Chapters.

The characters of Championship Wrestling Federation have been around since early 1999. This year marks our 27th year of being off and on a major part of the e-fedding world. Please enjoy taking a long look back on all the history we’ve created together.

CHAPTER ONE - OG Generation (Time Period 1999-2009)

Much of this time period is lost to the sands of time, unfortunately, as I was not able to find any of the old websites to get a full look back on results and storylines present at this time. I can recall the beginning of CWF being a period that the fedhead Rish was then known as Y2Justin (hey it was around the time period Chris Jericho coming in to WWF as Y2J was a big thing and we were kids), and some of the big stars around that time period were the following: Alex Cain (who was just known as Cain then), Angel (the OG Angel which Joe/Harlan Moretti played, not the one later on that became Amber Ryan), Big Sexay, The Stunner, Triple X, Lionheart, and quite possibly the most important of all - Angelica.

Angelica was the only female character in a world dominated by males. At the time CWF first started; most efeds out there were still running characters based off of or a complete ripoff of real life wrestlers. We, along with several other feds out there, began to break the mold and move away from that concept and with the help of Dani (Angelica’s handler) we also took away the stigma that female characters have to be booked against female characters. That there HAS to be a Woman’s championship. Angelica broke the mold in many ways throughout CWF’s time, and certainly should be celebrated for doing so.

There were certainly others but those were the names around the main event scene with the Stunner and Cain trading World Titles a lot in the early going of the fed, and as a lot of the long time members know the Alex Cain character went on to win a few more world titles in the later generation to become the only CWF competitor to ever hold a total of FIVE World Titles.

CHAPTER TWO - MODERN GENERATION (Time Period 2009-2017)

Another time period somewhat lost in time, but this is the generation where a lot of the handlers that we have today came into CWF. Elijah, Highlander, The Shadow, the Lost Boys, Jarvis King, Ataxia, The Blue Scorpion, Chaolin Sahn and many others dominated this time period while we also saw many of the OGs from the original CWF come back and show that their time in the spotlight was not yet over. We saw matches like Angelica vs. Jarvis King. Alex Cain win even more World Championships.

This was the time period where shit got real. No longer were we kids just trying to put on a goofy show, we had begun to get serious about this hobby. CWF was becoming a more recognizable name and handlers were coming from all over the world to make their name here.

CHAPTER THREE - THE GOLDEN YEARS/EVOLUTION ERA (Time Period 2017-2020)

These were the golden years. This is the time period where we have plenty to look back on. I’ll give some links here:

CWF wiki from that time period: https://ewrestling.fandom.com/wiki/Championship_Wrestling_Federation

At the beginning of this time period things were just starting to boom for CWF. We were picking up more and more big names from around the fedding world and becoming one of the biggest and most well known feds out there. Around 2019, I had begun working with an individual named Ben that ended up creating and running a paid website for us with logins for the handlers, poser graphics etc.

That full website is gone, but there is a wayback version of it here: https://web.archive.org/web/20200815140535/http://thecwf.rocks/index.php

Through these years we worked with several other federations out there; having CWF a part of several different big interfed things as well as working a couple of big shows with HOSTILITY. We also invited the outside world in several times for the Golden Intentions rumble where the winner gets a World Title shot at our famed Wrestle Fest pay per view. Andy Murray was one such name to come from the outside and shock the world to win the famous rumble.

Big names to make their stamp on this time period were Mia Rayne, Mariella Jade Flair, Silas Artoria, Freddie Styles, Duce Jones and many more.

MJF - Mariella Jade Flair herself - took the role that Angelica took on in the early years and took it to a whole different level; capturing the hearts of CWF fans and the office alike as she vaulted herself to superstardom and a World Heavyweight Title reign along the way.

Another massive female star, Caledonia Highlander, feuded with MJF through this time period as well as Mia Rayne.

In the Golden Years we saw many successful stables be born and a few dissolve along the way. The Forsaken, a group Ataxia, The Shadow and Mannequin started that later on took on members such as Mia Rayne, Dorian Hawkhurst and Zach was one of the biggest positive influences on the fed. Ataxia and Mia began a love affair throughout the later years of the group, as well as the Shadow being somewhat of a mentor figure for Rayne as they became Tag Team champions.

The Shadow himself worked his way through the roster in a big way, taking the Impact Championship to new heights and even becoming World Champion.

While groups such as the Cyndicate with Chaolin Sahn, Jarvis King and a slew of interchanging members threatened to take over things completely.

Elijah and Omega were even able to bring back some of the stars of the past like Alex Cain and Amber Ryan to create a very fun and successful group called the Insurgency.

Big moments for Mia Rayne outside the Forsaken stable was taking place in a  "Hope on a Rope" Match at the first and only Paradise (Boardwalk themed PPV), a massive history with the Institute and her biggest moment was claiming the World Heavyweight Championship herself when she defeated MJF.

Jaiden Rishel was at the tow of most of this period, running things finally after his father had done so for many years. The Prince had finally taken his throne, and CWF was at its peak point for a long time. Many CWF original matches were made in this time period from the Hellbound (later renamed Unhinged) triple cage to the massive, jaw dropping Tower, even a Higher, Wire, Fire match taking place in our halls.

CHAPTER 4 - POST MODERN GENERATION/INFERNALIA ERA (2026-Present)

And now we get to where we’re now! I won’t go too much into the present setting because you can read that by clicking the Rules/What is CWF tab or just read up on all the shows we’ve presented so far - but the basic premise is we’re stuck in an apocalyptic, dystopian future based in Anthropolis a fictional city that is mostly all that remains of the world in 2326.

The Amoralist army has destroyed over a third of what’s left of the world and runs things with a tyrannical bloodthirsty hand, and Anhellica their leader and the rest of the Amoralists have only survived through the years by the blood of CWF’s warriors. We’re in a true battle of good versus evil in the post modern generation; where anything and everything goes and most generally will.
